There are a few with pens in place,
a few fidgeting with themselves,
Hands with ribbons, rings and bracelets
Rings associated with emotional virtues
Ribbons in colors a child loves to smear walls with
Bracelets with histories of potent lovers, places, affairs,
Hands of course which glide over the forehead, to wipe out frustration in times of heat
Hands making figure shadows in a dim lit corner
Hands with worn out nails, a remnant of how the owner loved making the food yesterday
Hands which came together in the morning for her mother’s health in prayer
Hands which caressed the locks of hair to affirmations and a smile
Hands which create
With a few pens in place.
