Somedays

Somedays, you have to just bury the urge to bluff out your mind, to speak your heart, to model things out, to work against restrictions, to magistrate what’s beyond control, to vigilate life, to hold on, to put off. Somedays, you just need peanut butter with apple slices (trust me, it works!;) to let lose the rebel in you amid the creases of that really complicated organ in your chest!

Sometimes, I am the mess.

Sometimes, I am the broom.

On the hardest days, I have to be both.

Somedays, you muster up strength to stand forth, wage wars, urge conventionalism, voice opinion, do what you believe is right, even if it is taken erroneous in the eyes of the public. Somedays, you need to munch on your crackers and take charge.

Somedays, you have to embrace that not-so-devastated innocence left within you, to save some admiration for those broken pieces of your patchwork which refuse to remain subdued. Somedays, you need to treat yourself with that tall coffee mug and the last lot of fries which might remind you of that long lost friend who conceivably shall steal them when you aren’t looking!

You were born to dance to the beat of your own heart; to roam without cages with the innocence of a child, and the free spirit of untamed horses. I hope you laugh without stopping, live with abandon, and love like that’s all there is.

Somedays you ought to get up early mornings, buckle up, wage an adrenaline-dopamine-endorphin rush in your veins for the day, and devour your pizza slices before dozing off into a perfect sleep of a perfect day!

A bird doesn’t sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song.

Maya Angelou

Somedays, you gotta let your eye clouds burst when things get too heavy, and take that rightful nap you deserve which shall be devoid of a shrivelled cornea. In these times, when crying is so underrated in the process of healing, sometimes you need to believe how chocolates feel nicer and pancakes grow fluffier after that lump in your throat is gone.

Somedays, it’s about you.
Just about you.

  1. This is assuring and has so much truth. Somedays are just for getting through the day, appreciate those little moments and gestures to self, put the weight on our shoulder down and just be. Very well expressed and relatable.

    1. I believe the stories and writings I share are real in experience but raw in expression. I m quite an amateur in the language I feel. (And not to talk about grammar, nothing is that perfect in life :P) so just made the title up! 😃 How about you?

  7. So much truth in these words. So many little things that we must be ok with doing when we need to. Just be ok being us. Unashamedly and unapologetically us.
    Thank you for sharing. ♥

I enjoy most this line: “Somedays, you have to embrace that not-so-devastated innocence left within you, to save some admiration for those broken pieces of your patchwork which refuse to remain subdued.”
