THE LAST ADIEU

Bringing to you a poem which encompasses a lifetime of love, tenderness and proclivity!

Sometimes all it takes is a little hand reaching for yours, to remind you…. That these are, without a doubt, the best years of your life!🤱

Her hands have had the strength to raise the family right,
To expunge your tears and hold you really tight,
They come together each day in prayer,
And whenever you needed them they have always been there.

Her vision may be hazy but has captured a lot,
Those eyes have discerned pain and a clique of tears they have got,
They have witnessed your laughter, your outbursts, your fears,
Now they seek to close for the end her body nears.

She taught you to love, to smile, to pray,
Rebuked you for your slight transgressions all round the day,
Has been a chanteuse when she sung you to sleep,
Was the one whom you could trust when you had a secret to keep.

Don’t flare up at her today, don’t manifest your fits,
Just stride down to her and say ‘I LOVE YOU ‘
Array the signs of tender, care and warmth,
Let the yearnings of your heart be her LAST ADIEU!

  1. I’m sure many of us can relate to this. Goes hand in hand with telling others that you love them– and telling them today. Nice verse, Dishita. Be safe and have as wonderful a holiday and New Year as possible.
